Soul Care Conversations will offer intentional, more private conversations with like-minded clergy and organizational leaders: – to help leaders process their own stress and confusion while leading during these trying times – to share helpful resources – to create space for collaborative problem solving and brainstorming idea for moving forward *Rev. Whitenhill serves as the Mental Health Initiative Manager of the National Benevolent Association, the health and social service general ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She speaks, preaches, teaches across the country bringing awareness about mental health and wellness in the church, and helps break stigma regarding mental illness, issues of oppression and marginalization that impact mental health. Pulling from all her educational experiences—a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in New York City, a Masters of Social Work from the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work and a certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy, from the Denver Family Institute, Rev. Whitenhill has had proven success in interdisciplinary program development, intercultural bridge building, and organizational leadership. She created one of the nation’s few spiritually integrated residential treatment programs at the Tennyson Center for Children in Denver, Colorado, where she served as both a chaplain and therapist on the clinical team before leading the Disciple of Christ Mental Health Initiative.
